Russian soprano Olga Zharikova has been praised for her “streaming, glorious voice that conquers and captivates the audience”. Olga is a soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre Primorsky Stage since August 2019. Repertoire at the Primorsky Stage includes Violetta Valéry in La traviata, Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor, Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte, 4th Klingsors Zaubermädchen in Parsifal, Prilepa in The Queen of Spades, Gilda in Rigoletto, Marfa in the Tsar´s Bride and others. Upcoming debut performances include Ludmila in Ruslan and Ludmila and Adele in Die Fledermaus.
Ms. Zharikova’s 2018-19 season included the premiere of a new production of Rigoletto as Gilda"...one of the main discoveries, if not to say the shocks of the premier”, Violetta in Das Veilchen vom Montmartre at the Premier Music Theater of Krasnodar and Brigitta in Iolanta at the Palau de les Arts.
Olga completed her training at the Centre de Perfeccionament Plácido Domingo at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, which included performances as Annina in La traviata, Baucis in Philemon und Baucis and Flora in The Turn of the Screw. As a special prize at the end of the program, she received a contract to return to Valencia as a principal artist as Voce dal Cielo in Don Carlo.
Ms Zharikova has been a soloist for the Silver Strings Russian Youth Orchestra, St. Petersburg Philharmonie for children and youth and the St. Petersburg Conservatory Theater of Opera and Ballet.
She is a 2016 Operalia semi-finalist, the first prize winner of the VI Ópera de Tenerife International Singing Competition, the first prize winner of the VII Saint-Petersburg International Competition for opera singers, the 2nd prize winner of 43th competition among graduates of higher music schools and Conservatories of Russia, and a recipient of the 2016 Gerda Lissner International Vocal Competition Career Grant.
A native of Novorrosyisk, Russia she graduated from the Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory under the tutelage of Tatiana Novikova.
